COVID-19 day 199: 📈 59,692 new cases, 1,854 new deaths (US): 06 August 2020

Global cases cross 18M, US deaths cross 160K; a numbers-only edition

It’s day 199 since the first case of coronavirus disease was announced in the United States. The daily case numbers continue to decline slightly while deaths per day increase. Apologies for continued lag in the three issues/week report. Hopefully, next week I’ll feel better. (Some details in the next issue, for those who are curious.)

The virus was not created in a lab and the weight of evidence is that it was not released intentionallyAlthough early reports tied the outbreak to a market in Wuhan, China, analyses of genomic data have suggested that the virusdeveloped elsewhere.
